BNB Chain is a community-driven, decentralized and censorship-resistant blockchain, powered by BNB. It consists of BNB Beacon Chain and BNB Smart Chain (BSC), which is EVM compatible and facilitates a multi-chain ecosystem. It is the world’s largest smart contract blockchain in terms of transaction volume and daily active users.
BNB Chain has processed 3 billion transactions to date from 163 million unique addresses, bringing developers massive user access with ultra-low gas fees and zero downtime since inception. The ecosystem has more than 1,300 active dApps across multiple categories such as DeFi, Metaverse, blockchain games, NFT, and more.
Broader Ambitions
The goal is clear for BNB Chain. We are doing all we can to help developers build dApps that scale and offer prospective users a seamless experience, making onboarding in Web3 an easy proposition. This year, BNB Chain will have 30 times the computing power of Ethereum and will be actively working on decentralized storage solutions. As a result, blockchain technology will be increasingly integrated into real-world applications.

These aims are being realized with each passing day. The recent BEP-131 proposal has increased the number of BNB Smart Chain Mainnet validators from 21 to 41. This provides more decentralization and incentives for validators to constantly innovate their hardware and infrastructure.
Alongside this, BNB Beacon Chain is now open-source and accessible for developers to build on.
